“its explorable wastelands and hectic firefights have shot it up near the top of my most wanted games list”
“Jesus, LOOK at this fucking thing! Twisted Metal doesn’t need to come back…it’s already here! When can I play this damn thing?!?!l”
-David Jaffe, director of Twisted Metal
“I hope I can get properly aerial, take shortcuts over mountains and land on cars as they come careening around the bend. Silly wastelanders! That’ll teach you to leave the sun roof down”
“For context, you can jump out of one vehicle into another, and its driver will not like it and, apparently, will keep trying to get the control back, albeit just visually. So when you abandon the car, the driver will start attacking you.
This little detail makes sense, although it is entirely unnecessary, but the fact that it’s there shows Kemppainen’s love for his creation.”
“Jussi-Petteri Kemppainen, the principal VFX artist at Remedy Games, showed off a cool retro upgrade tree system he made for his “crazy-desert-grapple-gun-car-battle-game” in development, Drivers of the Apocalypse.”
“He recently showcased a smooth and satisfying customization process for painting cars in a clip on X/Twitter, including how to add various decals, adjust their sizes and positions, switch colors using a palette, and finally, place the customized cars into the game scene.”
“High-octane action-driving combat game Drivers of the Apocalypse, Jussi-Petteri Kemppainen’s solo project, is not going to stop at its current level of intensiveness, as recently, the developer has brought procedurally generated super long armored freight train to the combat in the vast desert. “
